My cousin and roommate (for nine more weeks; she’ll be graduating U of Mass, 4.0 average, in December and will no longer have need of the room,) Lauren, had gone to see Sebastian Maniscalco last Friday night and had been talking about him ever since. To quiet her I agreed to watch him in a one-hour stand-up, Stay Hungry,

Commentary
Wednesday, October 30, 2019
I took a time out Sunday night to watch a one-hour Netflix presentation of the stand-up comic, Sebastian Maniscalco.
He was funny from beginning to the end.
People constantly recommend shows or movies, one to another.
How many times does that work out?
Probably a lot, right?
It’s how social media postings become popular.
And yet.
And yet I am hesitant, skeptical even, to give credence to such.
A stick in the mud?
Or old enough to have been stung often enough to shy from them.
Does the recommending party really know what we like?
Is she really a good judge of movies or shows?
Is she insisting I go tomorrow to view it?
Worse yet, what about “There’s someone I want you to meet?

Am spending time on finding social media for the podcasts and then on the technology to become providers of content.
Nothing is easy.

This, from the first ‘hee’ is our friend, Sally C:
(hee hee hee!)
Dom, I wouldn't put it past you to include a recipe for "Uninspired Roast Pork Tenderloin" in your recipe section.
(hee hee hee!)
Have I regaled you yet with a review of the dreadful recipes my mother and I discovered in a recipe book created by a group of southern Californians in the late 1940s?
The proceeds of the sales were to benefit the British in the aftermath of WWII, many of whom were suffering mightily from food shortages.
This cookbook, called "Epicurean Recipes," was decidedly inspired, but with what hallucinogens, I cannot fathom.
Although I believe that the "Fricasseed Iguana" would probably be quite tasty, neither of us could get past the recipe for "Minted Mushrooms."
The book, which apparently is quite rare (copies in decent condition selling for hundreds of dollars), provided us with much giggling and mock gagging.
(This copy, which my mother acquired at a used-book library sale for a dollar or less, was held together by containment in a plastic bag.) We gave it to an English woman who is a good friend, and she's been chortling over it ever since.

Web Meister responds: Yummy! And what great entertainment!
