Commentary
Friday, July 12, 2019

Another of Kali L’s guest commentaries.

Internet Enslavement

I think, why can’t you text me the picture of your hand

holding tea. Instead, you post it for your thousands of

followers. I want to be more than all of them. I think,

I am more than all of them.

I remember the way you bit my shoulder blade ripe

as the Bruins skated across your TV. I marvel at

how you fluff your pillows and change your sheets

so frequently.

Your friends whisper to me across a fire pit

He’s the nicest person you’ll ever meet

I agree. He warms a towel for me

after a shower. He tells me later, I love that

you showered here.

I can take anything and make it grow.

I can take anything and make it die.

Weather
Friday, July 12, 2019
On this day Boston will enjoy warm temperatures, with a high of 84* and a feels-like of 90* with a risk of thundershowers.

The next days look splendid as well.
Eighties all with a lot of sun.
Anyone complaining?

Chuckle of the Day:
Friday, July 12, 2019

Isaac Fleaglebaum's attorneys handled a jury trial in a tough business case.
The client was out of town when the jury came back with its decision.
The lead lawyer, a youngish-lawyer with a flair for prose, immediately emailed a note to his client saying "Justice Triumphed."
Mr. Fleaglebaum replied, "Appeal at once."

Love tuna salad, Italian style with lots of celery, evoo, and red onion. Of course, great crusty bread.

A detail of the Catalan Atlas by Cresques Abraham and his son Jehuda Cresques

Described as "the zenith of medieval map-work", it is the earliest known chart to use a compass rose.

A compass rose, sometimes called a windrose or Rose of the Winds, is a figure on a compass, map, nautical chart, or monument used to display the orientation of the cardinal directions (north, east, south, and west) and their intermediate points.

It was produced by the Majorcan cartographic school and is attributed to Abraham Cresques, a Jewish book illuminator described by a contemporary as a master of mappae mundi.

It has been in the royal library of France (now the Bibliothèque nationale de France) since the time of King Charles V.

The atlas originally consisted of six vellum leaves, each about 25.4 by 19.7 in, folded vertically and painted in various colours including gold and silver.

This picture is a montage of eight pages (four leaves) of the atlas, depicting Europe, northern Africa and Asia.

Going to NYC. Will have a map with me.
