Comfortable today.
Yesterday not so much.
Yesterday suffered from sleep deprivation, fatigue, broken eating rhythms, heaps of clothes, papers, electronics, food and tableware, and untended emails to sort through and calendar.
Today, comfortable.
Strange when on a trip we so often fail to calendar the day after as a catch-up day, allowing appropriate time to center ourselves.
Lovely, the peaceful easy feeling we get when we’re returned to our normal rhythm.
The house is organized.
Our calendar is updated.
Comfortable.

This from Sally C:
Hi, Dom,
With regards to Black Hawk, our future president Abraham Lincoln gained his vast military experience during the Black Hawk War.
Because of his military ignorance, Lincoln was surprised to be elected captain of the band of militia from the village of New Salem, IL.
After some poorly managed drilling under Captain Lincoln, they marched off to the fight.
This war was a very short one, and by the time Lincoln and his men arrived, it was over. (The small company did capture a few straggling Sauk and Fox warriors, but they were generally afraid of their captives and were glad to deliver them to higher authorities.)
Lincoln often recalled later that, in that fierce engagement with the enemy, the only blood he saw drawn "was that by the mosquitoes."
Now there's a bit of homespun for you, Dom!
Sally
Web Meister responds: That’s, indeed, a little known bit. Thanks, my dear.

Chuckle of the day:
Monday, September 2, 2019
Two buddies and their dogs, a Chihuahua and a Doberman, were out for a Saturday stroll when they decided they’d like to stop for a drink.
The dogs wouldn’t be allowed in so each of the men put on sunglasses, pretending to be blind.
At the door, the bouncer, "Sorry, Mac, no pets allowed."
The man with the Doberman, "Sorry, friend. This is my Seeing-Eye dog."
"A Doberman pinscher?"
The man said, "Yes, they're using them now. They're very good."
The bouncer said, "OK then, go on in."
The man with the Chihuahua stepped forward and the bouncer, "Sorry, pal, no pets allowed."
"You don't understand. This is my Seeing-Eye dog."
The bouncer, "A Chihuahua?"
"A Chihuahua?!? A Chihuahua?!? They gave me a damn Chihuahua??!!!

Our lead picture is a British propaganda poster warning against careless talk, which discouraged talking about sensitive material where it could be overheard by spies.
The poster, produced by the pseudonymous artist "Whitear", depicts a glamorous woman seated on a bar stool making eye contact with the viewer, representing a conventional glamour spy, accompanied by the text "You forget – but she remembers" and "Careless talk costs lives".
British propaganda during World War II was created by the Ministry of Information, which was recreated for the duration of World War II to generate propaganda to influence the population towards support for the war effort.
A wide range of media was employed aimed at local and overseas audiences.
Traditional forms such as newspapers and posters were joined by new media including cinema, newsreels and radio.
A wide range of themes were addressed, fostering hostility to the enemy, support for allies, and specific pro-war projects such as conserving metal and growing vegetables.
