I must admit to a slight feeling of exhilaration.
While the early videos have flaws corrected in the later ones, as the next set will improve over the set before, nonetheless we’ve made great strides in that area and have Great Expectations.
I’m reminded of what Howard said at our 500th posting: see where the journey has taken us.
Where has it taken us?
From a simple, single-typed word document to a multi-media presentation.
And a growing following.
Thanks to all who participate in any way, from following to contributing articles or letters, to suggestions on improvements.

Taking advantage of the 50% off sale at Whole Foods, we enjoyed a second dinner of Grilled Lamb Loin Chops
w Spinach with garlic and oil.
Slow-roasted for 20min then butted up to flame and broiled for 3 minutes a side.
Knockout.

So last night I learned how to trim the videos.
As it turns out, an app called Photos, free, permits the user to do just that, obviating my need for such a powerful app as Adobe Premier Pro.
So thanks to Microsoft, I need not spend the monthly $22.00 charge for Adobe.
Note that this is our 504th posting.
Note that the several posted “Hey, Dom” videos have garnered a total of 200+ views in less than a week.
We anticipate that within days, the videos will be more viewed than the blog.
But hopefully, some of that viewership will spill over to the blog.
Will let you know.

A big year is a personal challenge or an informal competition among birders who attempt to identify as many species as possible by sight or sound, within a single calendar year and within a specific geographic area.
Popularized in North America, big years are commonly done within single US states and Canadian provinces, as well as within larger areas such as the entire world, the lower 48 continental U.S. states, or within the official American Birding Association Area.
The ABA big year record of 836 species was set by John Weigel of Australia in 2016.
The world big year record of 6,852 species was set in 2016 by Arjan Dwarshuis of the Netherlands.
The Big Year is a 2011 comedy film starring Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steve Martin.
It was based on the nonfiction book The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession which was written by Mark Obmascik.
The book followed three men on a quest for a Big Year - a competition among birders to see who can see and identify the greatest number of species of birds in North America (north of Mexico) in a calendar year.
The Big Year was directed by David Frankel and written by Howard Franklin.
The film uses the same premise as the book with fictional characters.
The film was released on October 14, 2011, in the United States.
Filming took place from May to July 2010.
It was released in the United Kingdom on December 2, 2011.
The film was a box office failure, despite the established stars like Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson as the leads.
Based on a budget of $41 million, it took in just $7.4 million in ticket sales worldwide according to Box Office Mojo.
As an erstwhile birder I found it amusing. I liked it.
