This from my friend and fellow writer, Colleen G, of Room to Write, responding to the post on pinball machines:
I bet you didn't know I was a pinball wizard!?:)
Usually I click on lured by the writing--this time I clicked on thinking--wow, Dom and his pals sat to plan his shindig in the midst of a bunch of pinball machines.
I pictured Fun Spot in NH, which is likely where that shot on the left is from.
The whole second floor is pinball machines.
Pinball is my favorite game and so I had hoped that after your party planning you and all your friends took hold of a machine and tilted your way toward bliss.
But, alas it was merely the illustration to some fun facts in your blog.
But, there is still hope.
You can get yourself to Bit Bar in Salem to play and hopefully, thought I haven't been in a while, Fun Spot is still a good spot to play.

BTW: I am the perfect foil to play against: I love the game but am very poor at it.
I am appreciative of good players and am highly complementary.
But, not a much of a drinker myself away from the dining room table, I’m not great at buying drinks.

Colleen should be well aware of my feelings re: her writing.
I, an active member of her writer’s group @ Room to Write until I started the blog a year ago, had many occasions to read and comment on her work.
She reminds me of Elena Ferrante whose forte is describing, like no other, the entrapment of women in a man’s world.
Colleen, like no other, can describe a teenager caught in an adult world.
An honor to read her work before its publication.
And she has a personality that won’t quit.
Think the Energizer Bunny.
Today and tomorrow cooler than the next five which are boasting temperatures in the fifties.

After 363 posts we’re at the 7.26% mark of my commitment, the commitment a different way of marking the passage of time.
Time is 12.01am.
On Thursday Boston’s temperature will reach a high of 46* with a feels-like temperature of 39* under sunny skies.

What is the cue sport ‘pool?’
Pool is a classification of cue sports played on a table with six pockets along the rails, into which balls are deposited.
Each specific pool game has its own name; some of the better-known include eight-ball, eight-ball pool and its variant blackball, nine-ball, ten-ball, seven-ball, straight pool, one-pocket, and bank pool.
The generic term pocket billiards is sometimes also used, and favored by some pool-industry bodies, but is technically a broader classification, including games such as snooker, Russian pyramid, and kaisa, which are not referred to as pool games.

The two rear corner balls are of different suits, the 8 ball is in the center, and the apex ball is on the foot spot.
There are also hybrid games combining aspects of both pool and carom billiards, such as American four-ball billiards, bottle pool, cowboy pool, and English billiards.
